John and Annie Glenn Historic Site hosts Model Rocket Day, Monday, August 11

NEW CONCORD, OHIO – Children with an eye toward the sky can take their first steps into space when the John and Annie Glenn Historic Site and Exploration Center hosts its first Model Rocket Day on Monday, August 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the site in downtown New Concord.

The day-long event is for children ages 9-12 and registration is limited to 10 children. Cost to participate is $10.00, which will include building and testing a model rocket, learning about how rockets fly, some experiments about rocket propulsion, and a tour of the Glenn Historic Site.

Preregistration is required, including payment of the $10.00 fee and completion of an application form and waiver by an authorized adult. Participants should bring their own bagged lunches. Drinks and a snack will be provided.
