FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Further information: Don McKendry, director, 740-826-3305 John and Annie Glenn Historic Site celebrates big milestone in very little time NEW CONCORD, OHIO – The John and Annie Glenn Historic Site and Exploration Center hosted its 10,000th visitor on May 15, reaching the milestone in only two full seasons of operation. “We’re very proud to reach this point in so little time,” said Don McKendry, the site’s director. “Having been in business just two full seasons, we think this is a real accomplishment.” The milestone walked through the door in the person of Alexis Varga, a student from East Middle School in Warren, Ohio. She received some gifts, along with a particularly warm reception from the site’s staff. McKendry also pointed out that not only has the site’s attendance been big, so has its reach. He said, “We’ve had visitors from 45 states and 12 foreign countries since we opened, so we’re reaching a lot of people and we hope to reach many, many more.” The credit for the site’s success, according to McKendry, involves a lot of people, too. “We have so many people involved here, from the board and the staff to the volunteers, and they’ve all contributed to this success and deserve our thanks.” For further information on the John and Annie Glenn Historic Site, or to schedule an event or tour, call 740-826-3305. |
